We believe all members of the body of Christ belong together. We endeavor to integrate persons with disabilities and their families into all aspects of church life at Grace Evangelical Church. We seek to love them because all are created in his image.

We believe people with special needs are valuable to God because they are his workmanship. They are uniquely gifted and lovingly created in his image. It is our mission as the special needs ministry at Grace Evan to be a welcoming body of Christ who shares the gospel that is sensitive to their learning styles and physical needs. We believe in the Holy Spirit’s power to change hearts regardless of outward appearance or learning ability.

Our In His Image Sunday School class meets at 9:30 in room 320. Bible lessons, activities, and games are adapted for all ages and functioning levels.

We have fellowship hour at 11:00. Volunteers are available to care for and fellowship with In His Image participants in room 320 while parents/guardians attend 11:00 worship service.

As our In His Image Special Needs program grows, so does our need for volunteers. Having a background in working with our special needs friends is NOT required! We will equip you with the tools you need to serve. Several volunteer opportunities await and are aligned with your God-given talents.

VBS 2023

We are now recruiting volunteers for our Buddy program. If you are high school age or older, we need your help! Buddies serve in three ways:

1. Extra hands in the self-contained classroom.

2. Assist a special needs child in the typical classroom environment.

3. Assist  during church-wide events.

If you are willing to help out, please contact Monica Larson at 275-4616 or Monica@graceevan.org.
