The Men’s Ministry at Grace Evan exists to help men reflect deeply and enjoy the grace of God in Christ as experienced through the Gospel.

The Gospel itself is the source of ongoing power to change us into men that enjoy and glorify God. We desire to accelerate men’s spiritual growth and to extend them into ministry and service. We are committed to building godly men to serve Christ in their home, church, career and community.

What We Do
Men’s Conference
Once a year the men’s ministry gathers for the annual Men’s Conference. We’ve hosted notable speakers such as Dan Doriani, Jean F. Larroux, III, and Dr. Harry Reeder. The weekend is a relaxed atmosphere with amazing cooking and great music.

We are glad to have Dr. Harry Reeder from Briarwood Church in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Reeder leads a very unique conference that compares the lives of Civil War generals. Harry L. Reeder III earned an M.Div from Westminster Theological Seminary and a D.Min from Reformed Theological Seminary. He is senior pastor of the 4,000-member Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. He is also the author of From Embers to a Flame and The Leadership Dynamic. More info HERE

Carpenter’s Cup Golf Tournament
A fun event for the novice and advanced golfer alike. Once a year the men of Grace gather at Windyke Country Club for a captains choice tournament. It always proves to be a great chance for men to get to know each other better. Don’t have a foursome? Don’t worry about it. We’ll form one for you.

Small Group Discipleship Opportunities
/files/Men's Ministry/Just_an_Anvil_by_FuriousEnnui.jpg
Being in discipleship at Grace Evan is being committed in a small group, usually of five to eight men meeting weekly. You will discover a deeper level of fellowship and camaraderie. You will find yourself surrounded by new friends who will accept you, share honestly about the challenges they face, be there to support you through hard times and encourage you in reaching your goals.
There are several levels of opportunity for small group discipleship.
Level 1: Intense and intentional. Weekly meetings with planned curriculum. This level is for the man that wants to get very serious about Christian growth. These groups require a commitment of one to two years.
Level 2: Monthly, bi-monthly, or weekly groups that meet for fellowship and the study of a book. These groups aren’t as intense as the level one groups, but are designed for focused growth.
Level 3: Groups gathered around affinities. Enjoy mountain biking? Hunting? Fishing? Something else? These groups are intentional gatherings of Christian men for the purpose of mutual encouragement, reminding of the gospel, and fellowship.

Prayer Opportunities
Tuesday morning prayer group. Contact Jeff Simons for more information. Service Opportunities The Men’s Ministry seek to move men into areas of service throughout the church and community. There will be scheduled times where men can be involved serving during Men’s Ministry events, Grace Evan ministries, and community missions opportunities.

Our Ultimate Goal
We seeks to make followers of Jesus who are incorporated into the body of Christ and being taught the lifestyle and teaching of Jesus. This lifestyle and teaching can be divided into the following areas:
Magnification and Exaltation of God
This means worship. Yet in the New Testament worship is more a lifestyle than a time of singing and preaching (Rom. 12:1-2; John 4; 1 Cor. 10:31)
Growth in Spiritual Maturity
One main role of the church is to promote growth in Christ and true community (fellowship) among believers (Heb. 10:24; 2 Peter 3:18; Eph. 4:13).
Involvement in True Community
This means being in life on life relationships where transparency and honesty can exist (Eph. 4:1–3; 1 John 1:3; 1 Peter 2:4-5).
Regular Lifestyle Evangelism
All believers are tasked with the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). Seeking and saving the lost is not an optional Christian activity (Luke 15:4).
Serving in Love
In John 17, Jesus prays that we will be sanctified and glorified in the same way that he was in his sacrificial death. Through Jesus’ example we are shown the model of how to promote unity among the brother and how to reach the world (cf., Phil. 2:1-11).
