What do you do at Grace Evan?

I help develop, organize, promote and facilitate all the sports and recreational activities. These sports activities / events are available throughout the year for both the Grace Evan families as well as an outreach for the community.  These activities are open to all youth boys and girls from 4 years old and up as well as activities for adults.

Are you a northerner or southerner?

I was born and "grazed" in Amarillo, Texas. I was first transplanted to the “real” South (you know Texas is its own region) by way of attending college at Ole Miss and then graduate school in Murray, Kentucky (close to the Mason-Dixon line).  I landed in Memphis after finishing grad school with the sports company I was working for at that time.       In other words, I am a Southerner... Yee-Haw!

Favorite book, movie, music?
                                                                                                                                                                       There are many of each, but ...Book :  "The Firm" by John Grisham ; "Half Time" by Bob Buford ; "The Prayer Cottage and the Sacred Garden" by Rocky Fleming.
Movie: "The Wizard of Oz"; "Superman"; "Brian's Song"; “You’ve Got Mail”
Music: There is nobody as smooth as James Taylor, Tony Bennett, Jimmy Buffett, Nat King Cole and sometimes I feel a little country with Willie Nelson or Kenny Chesney.

Family?

My immediate family consist of my mom (Mac Elaine - I never tell a ladies age) and dad (Robert - 70) who live in Amarillo, TX; an older sister (Sherrie - 50) in Houston, Tx with 6 kids; [ ME - yes, 48 and proud of it ]; a younger brother (Steve, 46 - also single and living in Dallas, Tx) who was a World-ranked gymnast and coached in the ’96 Olympics in gymnastics; another younger brother (Shane - 42) who lives in the country outside of Amarillo with 3 boys and is a former Police officer and professional race car driver; and my youngest brother (Shandy, 34 - a computer guru) is currently single and living with my parents in Texas. Yes ... ALL the kids have "S" names and ALL their birthdays are in the month of July except mine and my dad's!
No pets at the moment.

Favorite Pastime?
                                                                                                                                                                      When not working, I enjoy being with friends or helping out with various charities that I am involved with such as Special Olympics, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Palmer Home for Kids. I like just about all sports but participate more with Golf, water & snow skiing, horseback riding, fishing or camping and hiking. (I know that sounds like a canned answer, but its' true!) I am somewhat of a daredevil and have been cliff diving, bungee jumping and sky-diving!
